Owens' new collection is called Walrus. As usual, Rick likes to introduce bright colors for summer (Dark Lord with colors?). Drops of Madeira brown, some bits of canary yellow, pale orange and blue and lots and lots of white, clean and pure. Women's collection also features a lot of purple.
Items are well-draped to say the least. Draping is considered as Rick's signature at this point. In addition to that Rick creates a new silhouette for his men's collection. Short top and wide pants (leather or cotton) over ... pants. The collection also features some cropped leather jackets (which are sure to find fans), sequin embroidery and a lot of oversized clothes. Simple yet luxurious, items from this collection are perfect for those hot summer evenings to celebrate any occasion.
I highly recommend to have a look at the official look book as well as on the pre-collection (available to buy now) on Rick Owens' website.
Stay tuned for the next post to find out my second choice for the best collection for SS17.
